Though Nigeria is a secular country, its cultures, religions, and norms are wholly patriarchal, denying women some privileges and rights. They are confronted with issues of inheritance, citizenship rights, widowhood, family planning and travel approvals from their spouses amongst others.
Gist Nigeria speaks to women from three prominent ethnic groups who have gone through these experiences and examines options available to them to explore the country's constitution on claiming their rights to inheritance.
