as posted by the channelFollowing Shell Petroleum divestment moves in the Niger Delta, members of some Niger Delta communities are protesting against the moves demanding that the oil giant compensate them and clean up their environment before leaving the region.
The protesters who spoke at the Shell Residential Area in Port Harcourt under the aegis of Kebetkache Women carried placards with inscriptions such as "Own Up, and Pay Up", and "Shell Clean Up Your Mess". Though Shell has sold most of their assets to Renaissance Energy, controversy still trails their conduct in the exercise.
