5:01Now PlayingThere’s heavy security presence in front of the Central Bank of Nigeria here in Awka as the Resident Electoral Commissioner and her officials are expected to come here to inspect and take possession of the sensitive materials for Saturday’s election.
The REC and her team are running a bit late as they were originally scheduled to be here by 10am, however party agents, journalists, and some other stakeholders are here alongside the security personnel on ground.
The sensitive materials have been brought out from the CBN vaults.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Queen Agwu and the CP election, Abayomi Shogunle are both here as well.
The CP says elections will hold and that his personnel are ready to secure both land and riverine communities in the state. However elections won’t hold in 2 polling units because of a lack of registered voters.
