1:33Now PlayingAmerican rap icon Trevor Smith Jr, popularly known as Busta Rhymes, has sparked conversations online after hinting at plans to settle down in Nigeria, including the possibility of finding a wife, during his performance in Lagos.
The 53-year-old American rapper made the remarks on Friday while performing at the Detty December Fest held at Ilubirin, Ikoyi, marking his return to Lagos for the first time in 15 years.
Addressing the crowd, Busta Rhymes, known for his fast rapping and energetic performances, described the trip as deeply personal, explaining that it went beyond performing on stage.
“Even though it took 15 years, we are home. This trip was special to me because it wasn’t just about a show. I’m looking for a home here, I’m looking for property.
“I’m thinking about looking for a wife so that when I stop working, I can settle down here. But there will be a few Nigerian slash Jamaican grandchildren,” the award-winning musician said.
