A few years ago, Choi created a 3D-printed prosthetic arm to make it more affordable and accessible, without needing invasive brain surgery. He started at 15, using his sister’s 3D printer and spending 30 hours assembling the prototype.
Controlled by brain waves and head gestures, the arm translates signals from the prefrontal cortex into robotic commands. With C++ algorithms, EEG electrodes, and motion sensors, it can perform complex tasks like pouring a glass of water or moving objects.
