Chris Shelton grew up in a Scientology family, joining at age 15, and enlisting in the 'Sea Org' - the religion's elite management organization.
In 2013, having experienced serious doubts about the religion, he left and was subsequently declared a Suppressive Person for publicly speaking out against Scientology.
Recently, Chris has appeared on the hit A&E television show, Scientology and the Aftermath, with Leah Remini.
Chris now has a very successful YouTube channel where he has hundreds of videos about Scientology and critical thinking. He also hosts the Sensibly Speaking podcast.
Talk Beliefs catches up with Chris and discusses what specifically caused him to leave Scientology, about the secretive Saint Hill Manor in England, and what the religion's late founder, L Ron Hubbard, really believed. Plus plenty more fascinating first-hand insights into the mysterious and often bizarre world of a religion many deem to be a cult.
