As shown in the new documentary on Netflix called The Social Dilemma, we are being controlled and even addicted to social media through carefully crafted algorithms and classic propaganda techniques. This has become more and more part of our daily lives, our jobs and our income. It's bending society in directions that are not just uncomfortable but could lead to breaking the whole thing apart. While at the same time all this is true, social media has also been a massive enabler of positive social and civil change.
