The events transpired in Aurora, Colorado, one of the metropolises near the metro Denver area. The city is controlled by conservatives and signed an executive order (7-3) stating that the Aurora-area would not be a sanctuary city for illegal immigrants.
Despite the city’s intentions, nearby Denver is leading the nation in new migrant arrivals with more than 40,000 illegal immigrants arriving in the city since December of 2022. Denver has spent $68 million thus far attempting to help illegal immigrants. The city has even gone so far as to slash jobs and emergency services to American citizens to benefit illegal immigrants🏢
