“THINfluencer” Liv Schmidt was a popular TikToker with over 700,000 followers. She gained popularity for sharing her habits, gym routines, and weight loss tips for staying super skinny.
For awhile now, girls on the internet — especially girls that have recovered from eating disorders — have been complaining about Liv’s content. Many women said that the portions of food she shared on her social media accounts were “too small” and that she was sharing “pro-anorexia” tips on an app where there are tons of impressionable young girls.
Ultimately, it wasn’t just Liv Schmidt’s haters that pushed back on her content — TikTok got involved in the drama and decided to remove her from the platform altogether. TikTok cited a violation of community guidelines and said her content was “dangerous and harmful” for allegedly glamorizing unhealthy eating disorders.
