YouTube Description
as posted by the channelCornell University every year has what they call Slope Day, a tradition where students hire performers and celebrate the end of classes and graduation. And this year, the student body hired a singer named Khelani. Khelani immediately became contentious because in 2024 she made a spade of Instagram posts saying “f Israel, it’s f Zionism, and it’s also f a lot of y’all too.” She also posted a graphic saying, “Long Live the Intifada” — the intifada is the call to eradicate Israelis and she made another post saying “Dismantle Israel eradicate Zionism.”
And I could go on, she’s got a ton of posts that are definitely anti-Israel. And of course this decision is made at the time that Ivy Leagues are under intense scrutiny from the federal government and the public for creating an environment where conservatives are viewed as evil, but students calling for terrorism against Israel aren’t considered problematic.
So, Cornell’s president put out a statement announcing that the school has rescinded Khelani’s invitation to perform on Slope Day.
