And, even more critically, how can we recognize the telltale signs of this troubling trend?

In a world where beliefs are increasingly diverse, we must remember one unchanging truth: the cornerstone of the Christian faith is wholehearted devotion to Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life. Yet, some modern Christians question whether this unwavering stance is harmful, as they struggle to reconcile a loving God with His commandments.

But here's the crucial point: love isn't just about affirmation; it's about guidance and correction. As Revelation 3:19 reminds us, "Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline." This is how faith flourishes.

God's ultimate act of love was giving us His Son, Jesus, to bear our sins on the cross. There's no greater display of love. God is love, but love alone isn't God; only He can truly define love. Therefore, churches that emphasize love without acknowledging God's profound love and His power to save us from sin are veering into heresy.

Recently, a video from the Cathedral of Hope surfaced, depicting drag queen nuns at the forefront of their church activities, promoting a lifestyle at odds with traditional Christian values. When we inquired about their Bible version, we received vague answers. However, we did uncover materials on gender and sexuality, and what we found was concerning.

Their statement proclaims openness and acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community, but the problem isn't welcoming people; it's celebrating their sins. Coming to Christ should mean transformation, as Ephesians 4:20-24 teaches us. True love from God says, "I love you despite your flaws, and through Me, you can find wholeness." Elevating love itself as God implies that love requires specific conditions to be valid.

For instance, the Cathedral of Hope's stance on the transgender community suggests validation and acceptance without addressing the deeper issues of gender dysphoria, fear, and confusion. As Christians, it's not our role to affirm brokenness; it's to guide individuals toward healing and the divine plan God has for them.

But this isn't an isolated issue. The Cathedral of Hope belongs to the United Church of Christ denomination. So, let's explore this further.

Upon reviewing the United Church of Christ's beliefs, we noticed a lack of emphasis on why we needed a Savior due to humanity's fallen nature. This omission raises important questions about the core doctrines of Christianity.

Under their Gender and Sexuality Justice Ministries, they claim that God's design includes fluidity, asserting that "God makes no mistakes" regarding sexuality and gender. This interpretation diverges significantly from Psalm 139. While we are fearfully and wonderfully made, claiming we were born in the wrong body contradicts God's flawless design.

Now, how can we discern whether a church remains faithful to the Lord's Word?

First, examine their beliefs. Do they align with sound doctrine supported by Scripture? Do their messages lead to conviction and clarity through the Holy Spirit, or do they simply appeal to the flesh?

Second, is the gospel of Jesus Christ the central focus? Does the church boldly proclaim Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life? Does it inspire a passion for making disciples of all nations?

Remember the warning from Revelation 3:14-16 about lukewarm faith. We must avoid churches that compromise the truth. Don't be misled or remain in a church that doesn't uphold the Bible's teachings. Research before you attend, and if you see deviations from God's Word, ask questions.

Apostasy in the church is real, but we can stand strong against it. Choose churches that boldly preach the gospel, stay connected with Spirit-led believers, and seek God's truth and goodness in your life. Together, we can combat apostasy and ensure our faith remains steadfast.
