2:52Now PlayingMourners flocked to Washington, D.C., on Wednesday for the state funeral of George H.W. Bush, the 41st president of the United States who died at age 94.
For about three hours on Wednesday, official Washington recreated an idealized version of what politics was like 20 years ago, before many of the uglier chapters of the 21st century had unfolded.
Party loyalties seemed to melt away as conservative Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas hugged Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, W.Va., and outgoing GOP Sen. Jeff Flake brought his sons to meet former President Barack Obama.
