In a statement to CNN, the Israel Defense Forces acknowledged the attack, stating that soldiers were sent to the scene and fired shots, causing the attackers to flee. Activists said that the soldiers also pointed weapons at a Palestinian man accompanying the volunteers and fired shots in his direction. Three international activists and one Palestinian farmer were taken to hospital with injuries following the settler attack.
