CNN reporter hit by fragment of tear gas canister while reporting on Kenya protests

CNN’s Larry Madowo was hit by the fragment of a tear gas canister while reporting on the protests in Nairobi, Kenya. Madowo was on the scene where young protesters had returned to the capital’s streets for an eighth week of demonstrations as President William Ruto swore in a new cabinet. The demonstrations started nearly two months ago, with mostly Gen Z Kenyans organizing on social media against a now withdrawn Finance Bill. They persisted as more citizens joined a largely leaderless movement against corruption, the high cost of living, and police brutality. CNN has reached out to Kenyan authorities for comment on the incident. #CNN #News
