A rideshare driver in Chicago successfully defended himself during an overnight shift when he used his legally held concealed carry firearm to shoot two robbers who had stolen his cellphone and opened fire on him, as reported by the police.
The 26-year-old driver, who possesses a concealed carry license, had just completed a passenger drop-off on the West Side of the city, and the incident unfolded shortly after 1 a.m.
The suspects involved in this incident were identified as a 20-year-old male who sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg and an 18-year-old female who suffered a grazing wound on her right arm.
Following the confrontation, the wounded male suspect was transported to a hospital, where he was reported to be in good condition.
In contrast, the female suspect declined medical treatment, indicating the relatively minor nature of her injury.
