U.S. District Judge David Herrera Urias, appointed by President Biden, upheld New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham's ban on concealed carry in parks and playgrounds, stating that these areas are "excepted from the Second Amendment's commands."
Initially, Urias granted a temporary injunction against the ban that included licensed concealed carriers. However, Governor Grisham later amended her ban to apply only to carrying guns in parks and playgrounds.
The judge's decision on the preliminary injunction request supports Grisham's amended ban and categorizes parks and playgrounds as "sensitive places."
This is the game these anti-YOU-have-a-gun politicians play.
They'll pass laws that are blatantly unconstitutional and as soon as the law gets taken to court, they quickly pull back the most egregious parts to make the rest seem reasonable.
