as posted by the channelUK police released an official public safety video telling citizens what to do during a firearms or weapons attack: run, hide, and call police when it’s safe.
That’s the entire plan.
And the problem is obvious: the citizens are disarmed, the average British police officer is unarmed, and the only person in the scenario guaranteed to have a weapon is the criminal.
So the government disarms the public, restricts what people can carry, and then tells them their best survival strategy is to be faster than the person trying to kill them.
That is not a self-defense plan. That is helplessness with a government logo on it.
To be clear, running is not bad advice if running is actually available. If you can leave, leave. I’d tell you the same thing in America. But there’s a difference between running being one option and running being the whole menu.
In the UK, that’s what disarmament has created. Guns were the problem, so they took the guns. Then knives were the problem, so they went after knives. But criminals still carry weapons. Violent people still attack. And law-abiding citizens are left watching official videos that tell them to run, hide, and hope help arrives before it’s too late.
That’s why the Second Amendment matters.
Because “call the police” is not a survival plan when the police are not there yet. You are your own first responder.
In the UK, that idea shows up as a joke in the comment section. In America, we still get to make it a plan.
Don’t let anybody talk you out of that.
