14:00Now PlayingA mass shooter opened fire at an Idaho In-N-Out, and according to witness reporting, one armed citizen in the drive-thru shot back.
He had a handgun.
The shooter had a rifle.
That matters.
A rifle beats a pistol at almost every distance that matters — more reach, more accuracy, more velocity, more capacity. But this man still stood there and made the shooter deal with him instead of continuing to fire into traffic.
That is the part the media barely covered.
He may not have single-handedly ended the entire attack, but he changed the timeline. And in a mass shooting, seconds matter.
This is why training matters.
This is why carrying matters.
And this is why the “good guy with a gun” story is never as simple as the anti-gun crowd wants it to be.
An armed citizen was there before police arrived.
And when the shooting started, he shot back.
