as posted by the channelRifaat al-Assad, uncle of deposed Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, has died in the UAE at the age of 89.
Known as the ‘Butcher of Hama’, he was the head of Defence Brigades that committed the February 1982 massacre that brutally put down the Muslim Brotherhood uprising in the city of Hama, killing 40,000 people in just 26 days.
But, as one butcher dies another rises in Iran, as Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has overseen the killings of 13,000 - 16,000 people in just 2 days this month.
