In 2000, Hillary Clinton was running to be senator from New York. According to the Washington Post, she promised to deliver 200,000 new jobs to upstate New York.
Of course, the government could never have made good on that promise even if she had gotten her bills passed. But Clinton never let the truth get in the way of some good pandering.
