YouTube Description
as posted by the channelThe Phantom Dark Age, also known as the Phantom Time Hypothesis, claims that the early Middle Ages -- roughly AD 614 to 911 -- were fabricated or exaggerated, and that we may be living centuries later than we think. The theory alleges that Holy Roman Emperor Otto III and Pope Sylvester II conspired to alter historical records so Otto could rule during the symbolic year AD 1000, strengthening his political and religious authority.
Supporters point to gaps in medieval records, calendar changes, and uneven documentation from Western Europe. However, most modern historians reject the theory, citing continuous archaeological evidence, tree-ring and radiocarbon dating, coins, architecture, and written records from multiple unconnected regions -- including Byzantium and the Islamic world -- that confirm these centuries did occur.
So is the Phantom Dark Age evidence of a massive historical manipulation, or a modern conspiracy built on misunderstood gaps in the historical record?
