I wept uncontrollably as I glimpsed the heart of God—His deep sorrow over the state of His people, the looming crisis, and yet, the unwavering hope that He would turn it all around for His glory.
It was through Jeremiah that the Lord revealed to me a profound truth: this prophet was a man caught up in the heart of the weeping God. God’s judgments were not distant or cold—they were the painful yet necessary removal of everything that stood in the way of love.
Jeremiah and Ezekiel emerged in a generation when God handed over His dearly beloved to their enemies. Both prophets cried out for repentance, urging the people to turn back, but their words were largely ignored. Yet, even in the ashes of destruction, they delivered some of the most breathtaking promises of restoration—prophecies of Israel’s renewal, the New Covenant, and God’s ultimate purpose of redemption.
