Devan Shreiner's Interrogation
October 13, 2021, Longmont Colorado...
33 year old postal worker Jason Schaefer was delivering mail on his route, when an unidentified person approached him, and opened fire.
Several residents ran out of their homes to find Jason Schaefer lying in a pool of blood next to his mail truck... he would not survive.
But who could have done this? And why?
Of course, detectives will start the investigation with those closest to him... Jason's ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, 27 year old Devan Schreiner would be a person of interest...
And wouldn't you know, they were in the midst of a custody battle
She is also a rural mail carrier in the city of Loveland.
Detectives bring her in for questioning to see what she might know about the situation.
But Devan was not the only person of interest in this case...
As the investigation moved forward, her on again, off again boyfriend, AJ Ritchie would raise some questions to detectives as well.

On October 11, just 2 days prior to Jason Schaefer being gunned down, he filed for increased custody of their son. And detectives say it was clear that Devan Schreiner was served with that paperwork.
And according to Jason's mother, he told her that his girlfriend, Rosa had started living with him... Rosa is Devan Schreiner's younger sister... Surely that could have played a role in this one...
On September 25, 2023... AJ Ritchie was found guilty of first degree murder and was immediately sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for his role in the murder of Jason Schaefer...
Earlier that year, on March 7, 2023, Devan Schreiner was found guilty of first degree murder and was also immediately sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole.
