Reeves, a retired Florida police captain accused of shooting and killing Chad Oulson in a movie theater during a dispute over cell phone use and popcorn.

Reeves is charged with the Jan. 13, 2014, death of Chad Oulson. Investigators say the men got into an argument when Reeves confronted Oulson about texting. Surveillance video shows Oulson grab Reeves’ popcorn and threw it at him. Reeves then fires a gun, fatally wounding Oulson. Reeves, a retired Tampa police officer, is charged with second-degree murder and aggravated battery. Reeves pleaded not guilty, claiming self-defense.
