On Feb. 21, 2008, a jury found Jensen guilty of murdering his wife, Julie Jensen. Prosecutors claimed he poisoned Julie with antifreeze in 1998 so he could continue an affair with a woman he eventually married.

The case was built on a letter Julie wrote pointing the finger at her husband of 14 years, as well as her statements to police, a neighbor and her son’s teacher that she suspected Mark was trying to kill her.

That same letter is what eventually led the Wisconsin Supreme Court to grant Jensen a new trial, ruling that Julie Jensen's "incriminating statement" could not be entered as evidence in his new trial.

Mark Jensen has always maintained his innocence. His attorneys argued Julie Jensen was depressed and killed herself after framing her husband.
