Family and friends are expected to confront little Jaylah's killer and deliver victim impact statements. Bass is facing up to life in prison without parole for shooting his two children in their beds, his 5-year-old daughter Jaylah and 8-year-old son, killing his daughter.
Bass was found holding his 8-year-old son when police arrived. According to court documents, Bass claims it was an accident and stated the gun “went off” as he was “trying to take the magazine out.”
