1:56:03Now PlayingLIVE: Day 1 – Opening Statements – Rap superstar Cardi B, born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, is on trial in Los Angeles, accused in a civil lawsuit of assaulting a security guard. The case stems from a 2018 Beverly Hills incident when Cardi B was four months pregnant and allegedly attacked guard Emani Ellis during a doctor’s appointment.
Ellis claims Cardi B hit her, spat on her, and ordered security to hold her down, while Cardi B’s attorneys deny any physical contact and argue Ellis tried to record the rapper without consent. Cardi B is expected to testify.
