A jury acquitted Raul Valle of murder and intentional manslaughter in the 2022 stabbing death of James “Jimmy” McGrath. Valle, 16 at the time of 17-year-old McGrath’s death, attended St. Joseph High School in Trumbull, Connecticut, and McGrath attended Fairfield Prep. The jury could not reach a verdict on lesser charges of reckless manslaughter, resulting in a partial mistrial. Valle admitted to the stabbing but claimed self-defense. Now, Valle’s attorney is fighting for his freedom, pushing for the refiled charges to be dismissed. Court TV’s Vinnie Politan Investigates.
