as posted by the channelOn this week's Q&A, our guest was Charles Blow, Visual Op-Ed Columnist for the New York Times. He writes his opinion pieces using graphs and charts. In this interview, he discussed how his unusual job came about. He also talks through some of his graphics, charts, and columns on such subjects as: Dating, Childhood Obesity, Life in Large Cities, Acceptance of Gays in Society, and President Obama.
Mr. Blow worked for the Times as Graphics Director for nine years. He left in 2006 to become art director at National Geographic Magazine. He returned to the New York Times in April 2008 in his current position. Mr. Blow's columns and graphs appear every other Saturday in the center columns of the New York Times Op-Ed page. He also writes a blog called "By The Numbers."
