as posted by the channelOn January 20th, 1981, 52 U.S. hostages were released by Iran after 444 days in captivity. The ordeal began on November 4th, 1979, when a group of Iranian students took over the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in a show of support for the Iranian revolution. Now, 30 years later, the American Foreign Service Association hosted a panel discussion with former hostages to discuss their experiences. This event took place at the State Department.
