Today, Utah is considered one of the most conservative states in the country. However, in the first two decades of the 20th century, radicalism reached its peak of political influence in Utah. During this time, at least 115 Socialists were elected to public office and on seven occasions controlled governments of five different municipalities. John Sillito explains how radicalism flourished in Utah to ultimately dying out.
