After the December 7, 1941 Pearl Harbor attack, General George C. Marshall ordered the production of films to explain the causes of the global war to U.S. troops. Under the supervision of director Frank Capra, the Army Signal Corps produced seven films between 1942 and 1945 known as the "Why We Fight" series. "Prelude to War" is the first film and covers the outbreak of World War II to Pearl Harbor.
