Boeing's CEO and chief engineer testified about the safety of the 737 MAX airplane before the Senate Commerce Committee. Victims families were seated in the audience. Senator Blumenthal recognized them and then said, "These loved ones lost lives because of an accident that was not only preventable…but was the result of a pattern of deliberate concealment…They were in flying coffins as a result of Boeing deciding that it was going to conceal MCAS from the pilots."
