as posted by the channelCEO of TikTok tells the House Energy & Commerce Committee that the video app company is "not an agent of China", and is protecting American users' data from being accessed by the Chinese Communist Party, via the TikTok's owner, the Chinese company Bytedance. But Committee members of both parties by large did not agree, with some calling for TikTok to be banned.
House votes on veto override attempt of the first bill that President Joe Biden has ever vetoed, a bill blocking a Labor Department rule allowing retirement plan administrators to consider environmental, social and governance issues, or ESG, in their investment decisions. House vote coming up short of the two-thirds vote required by the Constitution to override a presidential veto.
House also starting debate on a bill titled, "Parents Bill of Rights", laying out specific rights parents have when their children are in public schools, such as to review curriculum and the list of books in the library and to address the school board.
