No permanent U.S. House speaker elected yet. Republican Conference nominee Jim Jordan (R-OH) at first decides not to pursue a third vote on the House floor, after losing the first two, and instead push to give the temporary Speaker Patrick McHenry (R-NC) additional powers to move legislation.

But after a meeting among House Republicans, that plan is scrapped, and Rep. Jordan says he will try to convince the 20 or so House Republicans who have voted against him to switch their votes to support him.

Lawyer Sidney Powell takes a plea deal in the Georgia election interference case. She is one of 18 co-defendants which include former President Donald Trump. She will get 6 years probation and a $6,000 fine.

U.S. Senate passes a resolution unanimously in support of Israel's right to defend itself and condemning Hamas for its attacks that killed over a thousand Israelis.
