as posted by the channelSupreme Court rules a bump stock attachment on a semiautomatic rifle, a device to make it fire faster, does not turn the firearm into a 'machine gun' prohibited under federal law. The 6-3 decision strikes down a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives regulation put into effect after the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting in which a gunman using a bump stock killed dozens of people.
The House passes the national defense authorization act - the annual military program and policy bill, after debating and voting on so-called 'culture war' amendments offered by Republicans, on topics such as abortion, transgender health care and diversity. There was also an attempt to return a Confederate memorial to its original spot in Arlington national cemetery.
