as posted by the channelSenate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Tuesday criticized President Trump for voting by mail in a Florida special election despite long railing against the method, which he claims leads to voter fraud.
"According to Donald Trump, vote-by-mail is cheating when other people do it, but perfectly fine when he does it himself. What a hypocrite this man is," Sen. Schumer said on the floor.
President Trump has long decried voting by mail and is urging passage of the SAVE Act, which would sharply curtail the practice.
"Mail-in voting means mail-in cheating," the president said Monday in Memphis, Tennessee. "I call it mail-in cheating, and we got to do something about it all."
However, the president has said there could be exceptions to mail-in voting for illness, disability, the military or travel.
President Trump's polling location is within a 15-minute drive of his Mar-a-Lago residence, where he has spent his past two weekends during the early voting period for Florida's special election.
