White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Lebanon was not part of the two-week ceasefire agreement as Israel continues to hammer Iran-backed Hezbollah targets in the country.

"Lebanon is not part of the ceasefire. That has been relayed to all parties involved in the ceasefire," she told reporters Wednesday.

Ms. Leavitt pointed to a statement from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he said he supported the Iran ceasefire while asserting that Israeli attacks on Hezbollah would continue.

"He's also assured the president they'll continue to be a helpful partner throughout the course of the next two weeks," she said, while remaining vague on whether Lebanon could eventually become part of a future agreement.

The press secretary also said the U.S. would be participating in negotiations with Iran in Pakistan over the weekend, led by Vice President JD Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and the president's son-in-law Jared Kushner.

"The first round of those talks will take place on Saturday morning local time, and we know we look forward to those in-person meetings," she said.
