Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) confronted EPA administrator Lee Zeldin over reports that the Environmental Protection Agency is examining whether traces of medication abortion drugs could be contaminating U.S. water systems.

“Are you actually paying taxpayer dollars looking into medication abortion being in the water?,” Sen. Murray questioned Mr. Zeldin. “Do you seriously believe there’s abortion in the water like some far-right activists are suggesting?”

“I have not had a conversation with anyone in the agency as far as abortions in water — I don’t even know what you’re talking about,” Zeldin replied.
