University Park City Council members stated that the city’s payments to DART were hindering it’s ability to fund other projects and issues that were more important for the city than the underutilized DART.
Even citizens testifying in defense of DART admitted that DART “needs to do better.”
As of now, five cities have voted to hold DART withdrawal elections. Those cities include:
-Farmers Branch
-Highland Park
- Irving
-Plano
-University Park
