Footage released by the US Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) shows troops boarding the MT Davina in the Indian Ocean.
“International waters cannot be used as a shield by sanctioned actors,” INDOPACOM wrote, adding that the Defense Department “will continue to deny illicit actors and their vessels freedom of maneuver in the maritime domain.”
The ship was placed under US sanctions in October 2024 for Iranian oil trading, according to the US government.
