Alan has been a Professor at Harvard Law School for 50 years, now emeritus. Active in litigation, writing, and defense of civil liberties and human rights. He has written 50 books - and his latest is: "The Price of Principle: Why Integrity Is Worth the Consequences" - which ties into the state of America these days - especially after this obvious political targeting of Trump.
Do we have the right to film the FBI when they are executing a search warrant? Is seeing a warrant from 10 feet away, satisfactory - or do we have the right to see that warrant up close? Alan breaks some of that down.
The FBI is claiming they wanted to keep a ‘low profile’ with this raid, which is why they chose to do it when Trump was away - and are now trying to pin the publicity of the raid as something ‘Trump did’ - it’s pretty astounding, but precedent and principle would dictate that their political targeting of Trump is pure political weaponization of the DOJ/FBI. (As we STILL do not have the warrant published)
The judge who issued the warrant had recused himself from a suit that Trump was bringing to Hillary Clinton and several other actors back in March of 2022 - it’s interesting that this judge recused himself in that case, but was comfortable issuing this warrant.
