U.S. officials, including Marco Rubio, have acknowledged this, confirming that there simply aren't enough missiles to meet Ukraine’s needs.

Even efforts to get other countries to supply missiles in exchange for future replacements have failed due to global shortages.

As for Russia's intensified aerial assault, Davis bluntly stated there's nothing Ukraine or the West can realistically do right now to stop it. Russia has spent the last 1–2 years dramatically ramping up production of drones and missiles and now possesses them at scale. In contrast, U.S. production remains too limited—producing around 600–700 interceptors a year, which is vastly insufficient compared to the hundreds of missiles and drones Russia launches nightly.

Bottom line: Ukraine can't intercept the majority of incoming Russian attacks due to a severe interceptor shortage—and this situation isn't likely to improve soon.
