Trump Wants to be 'Peace President' but 'Chief of War' Might be More Accurate

President Trump is often lauded by his Administration as 'the Peace President' and claims to have ended seven wars, and he openly desires the Nobel Peace Prize. But words and aspirations aside, actions imply he is closer akin to a 'Chief of War' than anyone seeking peace.

It is highly questionable that he had much to do with ending any of the wars he claims, but since assuming office he has:

* Refused to use his leverage to end the Russia-Ukraine War

* Refused to use his leverage to end the Israel-Gaza War

* Refused to rule out the use of force to retake the Panama Canal

* Refused to rule out the use of force to take Greenland

* Refused to rule out the use of force to compel Canada to become a US state

* Ordered US navy to try and defeat the Houthis to keep the Red Sea open (failed)

* Ordered the US military, contrary to the Constitution, to attack inside Iran

* Sent military troops to Los Angeles

* Sent military troops to the District of Columbia

* Threatened to send military troops to Chicago and New York

* Threatened to use military force within Mexico

* Sent an armed armada off the coast of Venezuela

And now openly muses about renaming the Department of Defense to the Department of War

Every single one of the use of military troops to US cities and the threats of use of force against cartels abroad is over the strenuous objections of the cities, states, or countries involved. He had barely any engagement in the wars he claims to have ended, and has been either unable or unwilling to end the wars he has had extensive and directe engagement since assuming office.

I get it, 'peace thru strength.' He is obligated through virtue of his office to keep our country safe. But peace doesn't come *only* thru the exercise of military power, and if the use or threat of use of force isn't wielded wisely, it can *rob* us of peace, and set the stage for more violence done to us in the future.

It is therefore fair game to ask: does President Trump seek peace or does he support war? It's an open question...
