as posted by the channelThis is a very passionate and heartfelt speech by the Ukrainian president, no question. But it is also in vain. If his people listen to this speech and continue to resist, they will be destroying themselves, trying to attain an unattainable objective. The war is lost and to ignore painful reality is not leadership, it is not heroism, it is self-destruction.
Ukraine deserves a leader who will make the hard choices and the difficult decisions, necessary to protect what’s left of its people and it’s country. To try and tell all the population to ignore the corruption scandals engulfing the top leadership, to ignore the battlefield losses that are now stacking up with increasing rapidity, and the fact that Ukraine is losing the battle in the war of attrition, is the opposite of leadership. It is like the captain of the Titanic telling all the people to stay aboard, making sure they all go down together.
I know that’s not a popular narrative, but it happens to be the hard, cold truth.
