The International Olympic Committee has responded to calls for a global boycott of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, following the passing of a new anti-gay law. Watch the video for the statement made by the IOC.

In Russia, it is now illegal to even admit homosexuality in public, to equate the value of homosexual relationships with that of heterosexual relationships, and punishment does not apply solely to Russians - foreigners can be arrested and detained for up to 15 days, fined and deported.

Do you think there should be a boycott against the Winter Olympics in Russia, or are Russia's anti-gay laws irrelevant to the world of athletics?
