7:16Now PlayingPolitico is reporting that Crossfire host Newt Gingrich may be in violation of CNN's ethics rules, which stated that whenever someone he or his PAC had given money to was a guest on his show, he must disclose that fact. Now, CNN has gone ahead and changed their policy, allowing Gingrich and the other hosts to discuss people and topics without disclosing that they've donated to that person.

Senator Rand Paul has been a guest on "Crossfire" and Sen. Ted Cruz has been a topic on the show. Mother Jones reports that Gingrich's PAC has donated to both Senators recently, and that Gingrich didn't make note of the donations in either episode. CNN said Friday that Newt Gingrich is not in breach of its policies on financial contribution and disclosure--because the policy was different than previously described.
