as posted by the channel

The NSA and it's British counterpart, the UK's Government Communications Headquarters, have been spying on gamers across the world, sending undercover agents into virtual universes to monitor activity in online fantasy games such as World of Warcraft and Second Life, according to reports by The New York Times, the Guardian, and ProPublica.

Both Microsoft and Blizzard Entertainment (creator of Warcraft) issued statements claiming to have no idea about the surveillance activity. This sort of activity from the NSA no longer comes as a surprise - is this just the new world we live in?
