For the first time, sex has been measured as a form of exercise. A new study out of University of Quebec at Montreal has taken a look at sex as a form of exercise, comparing the act to jogging, walking uphill, and playing tennis.

The study: Looked at 21 couples and had them jog on treadmills for 30 minutes, while researchers monitored their energy expenditure, in order to provide a comparison for the physical demands of sex. The scientists then gave the volunteers unobtrusive armband activity monitors that gauge exertion in terms of calories and had them complete at least one sex a week for a month wearing the armbands.
