Do you understand the Electoral College? According to Tara Ross the Electoral College is essential because it helps preserve our republic of diverse states from a tyranny of the majority. And don’t assume that blue states always vote Democrat and red states always vote Republican. Tara points out numerous examples in history where states have unexpectedly flipped from red state to blue state and from blue state to red state. She also discusses why she thinks there is less pressure on swing states than most people think and how the Electoral College system decreases the odds that an election could be stolen by hacking or some other means. There are beginning to be more people trying to get rid of the Electoral College, and instead have a majority-rule affair where the President is chosen by a national popular vote. So It’s more important than ever to understand what the Electoral College is and why America uses it to elect its presidents.
